So, who loses their phone for an entire week? Well, 6 days to be exact. Yep, it was me. I attended a family brunch in Mississippi and lost my phone. God works in mysterious ways.
Thinking out loud, I said, Lord, if you wanted me to take a break, that’s all you had to say lol but seriously. Funny part about this story is that everyone kept saying, “girl you are so calm, I would be searching high and low for my phone, I would not leave town without my phone.” My logic was this, a phone is replaceable, photos can be retrieved by signing in to an account but losing something that had my attention the most to gain something that would change my perspective forever was priceless. I traveled back home without my phone. I was not worried one bit. If I am honest, buying a new phone was not in my budget for the month of July (God provided).
It was not until I received my replacement in the mail a week later, powered it on and the Holy Spirit said “detachment.” Mind blowing right!! Setting up my new phone required new passwords because the old ones did not work, it forced me to think differently. I needed to detach in order to shift my paradigm because the old way would not work.
Isaiah 43:19 American Standard Version (ASV)
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
The word detach means: unfasten, disengage, loosen, free and separate.
Romans 12:2 English Standard Version (ESV)
“Do not be conformed to this world,[a] but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
What do you need to detach from as you move forward into the remainder of the year? The best is STILL yet to come. No, no phones are not all bad, this was just how the Lord spoke to me. I’m a believer that God can use anything to get our attention. As always, Motivate with Love.
